This story brings us to a far northern corner of Washington State. My good friend Justin had broken away from our itinerary and drove to Washington by himself the week prior. Justin had reached out to me to come meet with him in Olympic National Park so I was off driving up the coast to meet with him. We met at a dinner somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. I unfortunately don’t remember we’re exactly on this occasion. From here we finished our drive to Olympic National Park. The high country still had a good amount of snow left, so we aimed to not go too high this go around. We stayed two nights at the “Heart O Hills” Campground. This would be our Basecamp and home until we chose to move on…
We set up camp, lit a campfire, and started our dinner. All while figuring out what we wanted the next day to look like. We awoke to a peaceful morning in the Olympic National Park front country and slowly started our day. We knew that we wanted to photograph a sunset this evening and had to figure out where we would do this. After some deliberation, Justin and I decided to venture toward the summit of Storm King Mountain. While we did not make the true summit, we were met with an incredible sunset and evening adventure!

After sunset Justin and I began our hike back down to the Trailhead. Filled with enthusiasm and inspiration for the next day. We made it back to camp after hiking with our headlamps in the dark. The next morning, I grabbed Starbucks in Port Angeles, and late r, we ventured back into Port Angeles to try out some Sushi and check out a local outdoor shop called Brown’s Outdoors. We then drove back towards Tillamook.
